Joining the Team
Our club will accept any student, alumni, faculty, or community member regardless of athletic ability or experience. We welcome anyone that is interested to try and come out to a practice.
For any current student that wants to join officially, they would need to register online at Do Sports Easy, a site that all official Long Beach club sports teams use to add members to their roster. Make sure to download the physical forms from the website, schedule an appointment, and turn the completed forms into the club sports office window located near the center of the KIN building on campus. Fill out as much information as possible and if you have any questions please contact us.
Club dues are $50 per year and are due before you start competing, otherwise as soon as you can get them in.
Races
Most of us that are interested in joining probably have never even thought of actually completing a triathlon. It's a huge accomplishment that we will help you achieve through training. It's normal to struggle at first, and that's why we focus on improvement.
Triathlon sequences start with swim, then bike, and last run. Reverse triathlons are the opposite.
We highly encourage our members to compete in at least two sprint triathlons if possible.
Apparel
In triathlons, competitors typically wear trisuits while competing in each sport. Sometimes we need a wetsuit to swim in cold open water. However, you don't have to wear a wetsuit if the swim portion takes place in a pool because it's normally heated.

Roka is one our sponsors and they offer our members 25% off on almost every purchase from their store website. Once you join our team one of our club officers can give you the coupon code, and we encourage our team members to take advantage of it and apply to their wetsuits that they have on sale! Wetsuits are expensive in general, but our discount takes a chunk of the financial burden off our shoulders.
Lastly, we are in the works of creating new trisuits for our members valued at $139.99 plus tax from the TYR website. Whenever we have our team meetings and you're ready to purchase one, we can order one for you. You'll be able to customize the back of the trisuit, so be creative! The front will contain just a LB logo.
